Recap

Junkertown

Houston started with the double sniper and Bastion setup. They went for a slow push on Point A before a big team fight win led to an almighty stagger. Jake switched onto Junkrat and Dragons just couldn’t deal with the spam damage. Rawkus didn’t even have to switch off Bastion as they completed the map with three minutes in the bank.

Shanghai ran the same lineup as their opponents on their attack run but couldn’t find anywhere near the same amount of success. They were forced to switch and just couldn’t recover the lost ultimate advantage as they failed to find a single tick.

Horizon Lunar Colony

Houston ran Rawkus on Sombra and with Jake on Tracer, did a good job of flipping the Shanghai defence to take Point A quickly. Both players switched off on B, built up their ultimates and just snowballed to complete the map.

Shanghai ran two supports with their Sombra and did well to bide their time, waiting for the one crucial opportunity to capture the point. They grabbed Point A and had over five minutes to take Point B but just couldn’t work through onto the point. Jake’s Junkrat spam was just too much for Shanghai to live with as Houston held on.

Oasis

We saw the regular Pharah battle on Oasis Gardens with Jake and Diya taking to the skies. Houston initially dominated but the Chinese side certainly pushed back into it and possibly could’ve held on to take the point but for the play of Linkzr, Muma and Coolmatt on the ground as Outlaws took a 1-0.

Jake went back onto Junkrat for University and really started performing. Shanghai had very little answer to the neverending spam damage and had to commit almost all of their ultimate abilities just to get any time on the point. Houston pushed back and retook the point thanks, in part, to their tank players to grab the map and the match.

Numbani

With the match already won, Houston started their victory parade with ease. They grabbed Point A on the first push and barely lost a life as they completed the map without really forcing the issue.

Shanghai looked like a defeated team as they approached their attack run on Point A. Time and time again they pushed but every offensive move was met with a sturdy Houstons defence. That continued right up until their final push. Dragons grabbed Point A and started staggering their opponents. A Nano Visor stopped Shanghai’s attack in its tracks. Outlaws held onto Point B to take the map and the 4-0.

MVP – Coolmatt. Coolmatt was the best of the bunch for an impressive Houston team. Muma and Jake put in excellent performances but Coolmatt just put down so much damage on the Dragons.
